スオスダイ！どうもタカです〜。皆さん、カンボジアに行った事はありますか？僕はプロフィールに書いた通り、2017年はカンボジアにちょこっと駐在していました。
しかし、カンボジアとは結構長い付き合いで、初めて訪れたのは2003年。人生初の長旅に出た時、東南アジアをぐる〜っと陸路で一周したんですが、その時訪れてからと言うもの、夏休みを利用したりして、数回訪れています。
カンボジアと言えば、アンコールワットが圧倒的に人気ですが、シアヌークビルと言うかなり寂れたビーチがあって、そこの居心地の良さにすっかりハマってしまったんですよね…今はカジノビルやレストランが乱立し、ビーチもあまり綺麗では無くなってしまいましたが、当時は知る人ぞ知るバックパッカーリゾートだったんです。
Suosdai! It’s Taka. Have you ever been to Cambodia? As I wrote on my profile, I was working in Cambodia in 2017.
Actually, I’ve been to Cambodia few times, since my first visit in 2003. My first long travel was in 2003, and I made a circuit around South East Asia by road.
Cambodia is famous for Angkor wat, but there is the beach called Sihanoukville, and I quite liked there. It was quiet, and not many people at that time… It was a backpacker’s resort!
However, there are many casinos,and restaurants now. To make matters worse, the ocean has been polluted.
当時の首都プノンペンは、一言で言うと暗黒の街でした。実際、電灯が極端に少なかったと言うのもありますが、当時はまだ銃犯罪が頻繁に起こっていましたし、人身売買も盛んに行われていました…
しかし、そんなカンボジアも昨今の経済発展は凄まじく、昨年約10年振りに訪れてみて驚愕！プノンペンに高層ビルが立ちまくっているわ、車の量がパンパじゃないわw
なんか、昔のあのダークさが無くなって、一端の都市に進化していました！
Early 2000, Phnom penh was a dark city. I mean, it was literally dark, due to the lack of lights, but there were many gun related crimes, and human trafficking was rife…
However, the economy has been booming recently in the country. When I visited PP last year, I was shocked! There are tons of high-buildings, and heaps of cars were running around!
PP has become a BIG city, and looks pretty blight.
さて、昔話はこれくらいにしておいて、プノンペンのお勧め宿をご紹介しましょう！僕は某地方都市に駐在していて、プノンペンには隔週末に滞在していました。
駐在当初は、宿選びに失敗しましたが、3回目の滞在時に素晴らしい宿に出会ったので、そこからは完全に定宿と化しましたw
Let’s quit talking about my memories, and let me introduce the recommended hotel! I was living in a rural village, and I stayed in PP fortnightly.
When I started to live in Cambodia, I picked pretty gloomy hotels, but on my third time to stay in PP, I found it! Since then, I had stayed there every time.

こちらのホテルはまだ新築な様で、とても綺麗！僕はいつもデラックスダブルルームに宿泊していましたが、部屋も広々としているし、一番のお勧めは広いバルコニー！バルコニー大好き人間な僕は、いつもここでボーッとビールを飲みながら音楽を聞いていましたw
This hotel is pretty new, so still very clean! I always stayed in a Deluxe double room, and the room is quite spacious. The biggest good point is the big balcony! I really love balconies, so I used to drink beer as listening to music in the balcony.
目の前が洗濯屋さんの、物干し場所になっていますがwかなり広くて綺麗な部屋ですよね！テレビのチャンネルも多いですし、ここのインターネットは早くて安定しています。
In front of the room is a hanging space for laundry shop, but the room is clean, and big aye? There are many channels on TV, and the internet is stable and fast!
こちらは、最上階の部屋のバルコニーからの眺めです。右手奥にはメコン川が見えます。やっぱり高層階は眺めが良くて気分が良いですね〜。
Here is the view from the top floor. You can see the Mekong river on your right. I really love the view from this room.

このホテルがある、通称「リバーサイド」にはお洒落なレストランやバーが沢山あります。また、後述しますが、昔から繁盛している激旨ローカル食堂も徒歩圏内にあり超便利！
24時間営業のコンビニも数件ありますし、各地方へ行くバス停があるセントラルマーケットまでも、歩いて行けるので何かと便利です！
This hotel is located in “River side”, one of the busiest district in PP, and there are many restaurants and bars around this area. I’m gonna write about the info, but there are few very good local restaurants with in the walking distance!
There sure are 24hours convenience stores, and you can walk to the Central market, where there is the bus station. This hotel is very conveniently located indeed!

クメール人は、概ねフレンドリーな方達なんですが、ちょっと抜けていて気が利かない…って言う思いを結構するんですよね。
しかし、ここのフロントの方は、僕が2回目に滞在する時に訪れたら、直ぐにチェックイン出来る様に、チェクインフォームを事前に記入しておいてくれて、僕がサインするだけで良い様に段取りしておいてくれたんですよ！これにはとても感激しましたね〜。
荷物もちゃんと運んでくれますし、部屋に何か問題があれば直ぐに駆けつけてくれて対応してくれるし、と至れり尽くせり。まあもちろん、毎回チップはあげていましたけどねw
The Khmer people are generally friendly, but you might experience something disappointing…
However, the staff in the hotel is very well organised. When I stayed the hotel for my second time, the receptionist already filled in a check-in sheet instead of me, so I could check in within a minute. I never had such an experience, impressive!
He always carried my bag, and if there was a trouble in a room, he immediately fixed it. Of course I always tipped him, but it was just a dollar tho.
また、ここのホテルでバスチケットを予約すると、バス停までのピックアップサービスが付いてきます。（大型連休時、このサービスは無し。）大きな荷物を持っている時なんか、このサービス凄く助かります。
If you book a bus ticket at the hotel, there is a free pick-up service.(Except for the long weekend.) If you travel with your huge bag, it’s a big relief for you.

お店の外観はこんな感じで、オープンスペースがあります。店員さん達は、オレンジのユニフォームを着ています。朝早くから多くの人で賑わっていますので、直ぐわかります！
This is the view from outside, and they do have seats in outdoors. The staff members wear the orange uniforms.
It’s always busy here, so you won’t miss it.

宿から徒歩３０秒、朝5時から空いている老人歓喜の劇旨食堂、「126 The Noodle House Factory」です！僕はいつも朝5〜6時の間に起きてしまうので、大変助かりますw
もちろん、お店の名前から御察しの通り、麺が美味しい食堂です。
Hey, just shut up, and go to this restaurant! Hahaha.
The restaurant is just a 30-seceonds-walk from the hotel, and open from 5am. I wake up between 5~6 in the morning, so this restaurant is my main dining for brekky.
As you can guess from the name of restaurant, it is famous for its delicious noodles.
豚肉＆ワンタン入り平打ち麺ですね。ここは麺の種類が選べます。めっちゃ優しい味です〜！
Pork&Wonton flat noodle soup. You can choose the type of noodles here. Very delicious indeed!
こちらは、細い米麺を使ったカレーヌードル。カレーというよりは、ビーフシチューに近い感じです。
肉がかなり柔らかくなるまで煮込まれていて、ココナッツオイルと素晴らしいパートナーシップを発揮してくれているんですよ！ここは、ビールも置いてあるのでもちろんオーダーしましたw
This is the curry noodle with thin rice noodel. It’s more like beef stew, rather than curry.
The meat was nicely soft, and the coconut oil showed a good partnership with the meat! This restaurant has beer, so don’t miss it.
・最強コンビ現る！ The best combination!
はい、先ほどご紹介したカレーヌードルのスープとフランスパン！皆さんご存知の通り、カンボジアはかつてフランスの植民地だったんですよ。その影響で、今もなおフランスパンを食べる文化があります。
これは、お隣のラオスやベトナムでも同じです。このパンで作った、バインミー（サンドイッチ）とコーヒーなんてのも、この辺りでは結構メジャー。
このフランスパンと、ビーフシチューが合わない訳無いですよね！僕は、プノンペンに泊まる時は、ここで一回必ずこのメニューを頼みました。もちろん、食後のコーヒーもここで頂けます。練乳入りの甘〜いコーヒーは、カンボジアでも人気です。
Look at this menu, the soup of curry noodle, and bugget! As you know, Cambodia used to be a colony of France. That’s why, they still eat bugget.
Laos, and Vietnam also have this bugget. Banh mi(Vietnamese sandwich) and coffee are pretty common around these areas.
Hey, just imagine this… It can never go wrong! I always ate this breakfast, when I stayed in PP. They sure have coffee. Coffee with condensed milk is very popular in Cambodia too.

・Tinat Restaurant
51番通りという、大きな通りに面したこちらのお店、Tinat。
Tinat is facing No.51 street.
実は、ここはむか〜しカンボジアに来た時に、この辺りを散歩していて存在は知っていました。しかし、その当時は恐らくここで食事はしていなかったんですよ。
そして昨年訪れた時、懐かしくこの辺りを散策していたら、このお店を見かけてフラッシュバック！今もなお存在し、おまけに地元の人達で賑わっていたので、迷わず入店。
When I visited PP long time ago, I was walking around the city, and I knew this restaurant. However, I didn’t eat here.
When I visited PP last year, I was walking around the city, as I wanted to see how much the city had changed. Then I found this restaurant! This restaurant is still there, and packed with the local people, so I entered here without any hesitation.
その時は、朝の散歩中だったのでお粥をオーダー。やっぱり、東南アジアの朝食はお粥も捨てがたいですよね〜！2枚目の写真は、大豆を酢で漬けたか、発酵させたもの？の様で、ちょっと納豆みたいな味で、超美味！お粥との相性も素晴らしい〜。
It was in the morning, so I ordered the rice porridge. If you are in South East Asia, you can’t miss this menu for brekky! On the second pic, these could be pickled(or fermented) beans. It tasted like Natto(the Japanese fermented beans, notoriously famous for its stinky smell, and its stringy texture. ). I fell in love with it! It went well with the porridge!
こちらは、その発酵させた大豆と挽肉を味噌で炒めたもの。ちょい甘めの味噌で味つけられていて、日本の肉味噌みたいで、カット野菜につけて食べるんですが、ツマミに最高〜！
え？生野菜、しかも氷で冷やしてあるなんて危ない？そういう方は、カンボジアは避けた方が良いかと。実際、結構食中毒多いですし、僕はまさかのカルボナーラであたった事ありますw油断ならねー！
This is the fried minced meat with the fermented beans. The taste was slightly sweet, and it’s very similar to the Japanese food. You eat with cut veges, these go really well with beer too!
Are you afraid of raw veges with ice? Then, Cambodia isn’t for you. Actually food poisoning is very common in Cambodia, and once I had one after eating Carbonara. Golly gosh!
最後に、トマトの肉詰めです！あ〜、もうここの料理、全部酒に合うんですよね！パクチーたっぷりで超美味しいんですよ。ただ、熱々に蒸されているので火傷に注意です！
At the end, stuffed tomatoes with minced meat! Oh, well! All the menu go really well with beer! There are many coriander, and I love them. Mind you! It’s very hot, so take it easy!
写真が見つかりませんでしたが、ここの蒸し鶏も超絶美味いですので是非お試しあれ！
I though I took a pic of the steamed chicken in the restaurant, but I couldn’t find it… Please try it if you have a space for it!

I highly recommend this restaurant too. I often visited restaurant twice a day! Hahaha.
