サワディーカップ！どうも、タカです〜。さてさて、今回は猫好きの僕が(犬も好きです！)お届けします、世界猫歩きチェンマイ編です！旅の楽しみの一つに、旅先での動物との触れ合い…そんな方も多いかと思います。

タイは犬がそこら中に居ますが、猫ももちろん沢山居ます。タイを旅していれば、動物に遭遇する確率はかなり高いですが、今回ご紹介するチェンマイはその中でも群を抜いて、動物と触れ合える場所が多いです。

 

Sawtdee krap! It’s Taka here. Well well, this time I’m going to write about cats in Chiang mai, Thailand! I’m an extreme cats lover (dogs too!), and one of my enjoyment for travelling is to play animals. I’m sure some of you guys are the same.

There sure are a lot of dogs on the street in Thailand,and so are cats. If you travel in Thailand, you encounter many animals, but Chiang mai could be the best spot to meet adorable cats.

 

チェンマイのお勧め猫宿！  My recommended hostel where there are bunch of cats!

僕のチェンマイの定宿の1つである、Walai House（←Agodaに飛びます。）をご紹介しましょう！こちらの宿は、Hotels.comでも取り扱いありますが、Agodaの方が若干お安いです。まあ、一泊1000円位なのであまり大差ありませんけどねw

 

I wanna introduce my favorite hostel in Chiang mai, Walai House.(←jump to Agoda) This hostel is also listed on Hotels.com, but Agoda is slightly cheaper. Anyway, this hostel costs about $1o, so it’s not such a big difference!

 

このホテルの良い所は、各部屋に小さいながらバルコニーが付いているんですよね〜。以前のプノンペンのお勧めホテルの回でもご紹介しましたが、僕はバルコニー好きな旅人です。

バルコニーに、洗面所があると言うちょっと不思議な造りですが、日の出＆サンセットが見れるので僕は非常に気に入っています！また上の写真は、この宿のバルコニーでの一コマですが近所の猫氏がヒョッコリ現れました。

 

This hotel’s good point is, all rooms have a small balcony. As I wrote my previous post about Phnom penh’s recommended hotel, I do love balconies!

This hostel has an unique structure. There is a washroom in balcony, but I do love this space, as I can see sunrises, and sunsets!  The pic above was taken at a balcony, and the cat visited my room.

 

この写真は、別の年に訪れた際の写真ですが、何と一気に二匹の猫達が！！！何というご褒美タイム…タイはどこも猫が沢山居ますが、このあたりはとても人懐っこい猫が多い気がしますね〜。

 

This pic was taken in another year. Two cats visited my balcony at the same time!!! What a heaven… Cats are everywhere in Thailand, but I feel there are many friendly ones around this area.

 

数日後には、僕の部屋のベットが実効支配されるという事件が！ムムム…まあ可愛いから許しちゃいましょう。

 

Few days later, one of my bed was occupied by the cat! Humm… she is such a cute cat, so it’s ok.

ご紹介したワライハウスは、旧市街の北西に位置しています。この辺りは現地の学生や、タイマッサージの学校に通う生徒が多く宿泊するエリアで、住むのには非常に便利です！

また、絶品名店も徒歩圏内に何店もあり是非ご紹介したいのですが、それはまたの機会にしましょう〜。

 

Walai house is located on North-west, if you see from the old city. There are many local students, and the students who study Thai massage. Thus, it’s pretty lively, and convenient to live for long term!

Moreover, there are many great restaurants within walking distance. I’m gonna introduce them near the future!

 

こちらは、ワライハウスからすぐ近くにある、酒屋さんにいる猫氏です。真っ白で綺麗ですよね〜。

タイはお酒を購入できる時間が11〜14時、また17時〜24時の間と限られています。しかしながらそこはタイで、個人商店などはお構い無しにお酒を販売してくれる所があります。ここもその一つなので、懇意にしており、お酒を買う際にはここで購入し、猫氏と戯れてきます。

注意ですが、こちらの猫氏は気が荒いので、あまり撫ですぎると引っ掻いてきます！

Alcohol can be sold during 11~14, and 17~24 o’clock in Thailand. Hey, but it’s Thailand, you can do whatever you want, hahaha. Some mom and pop stores sell alcohol anytime, and this shop is it! That’s why I always go there, and play with the cat.

BTW, this cat can be grumpy, so do NOT pat it too much. It’s gonna scratch you!

酒屋さんの地図はGoogleには登録されていませんが、こちらのやたらセクシーな洋服を売っているお店の隣です。

 

The liquor shop hasn’t pinned on Google map, but the shop is next to this clothes shop. (The clothes shop sells ridiculously sexy ones tho! hahaha)

 

こちらは、ワライハウスの一本裏の通りにある居酒屋さんで飼われている猫氏。この居酒屋には数匹の猫が居る事が確認できています。また、たまにここの従業員が犬を連れてきたりと、動物好きにはたまらない居酒屋ですよw

こちらの居酒屋、面倒見の良い女将さんが切り盛りする、オープンエアーのローカル居酒屋で、料理も手頃でそこそこ美味しいので、ちょこちょこと通っています。

 

The cat is living in a restaurant, which is located in one street behind from Walai house. I’ve seen few cats in this restaurant. Sometimes, one of the workers takes her dog here, so this restaurant is a good spot for animal lovers!

The lady owner is kind, and the foods are affordable, and tasty. Why not visit here?

ワライハウスの直ぐ裏の通りにある、マウンテンハウスと言うゲストハウスの真向かいにこちらの居酒屋はあります。昼間は閉まっていて、夕方頃から夜遅くまでオープンしていますので、一軒目に軽く行ったり、最後の締めに寄っても良いですね。

こちらも注意ですが、オープンエアー故に蚊がめっちゃいます。虫除けスプレーをしてから向かいましょうwタイはお店でもスプレーを貸してくれると思いますが、事前にして行った方が良いですよ！

 

This restaurant is located in front of The Mountain House, which is located very close from Walai house. The restaurant is open from around 6pm till midnight, so I often go there for a starter, or at the end.

This restaurant is open-air, so there are tons of mosquitoes, so better prepare for them!

 

 

さて、今回は世界猫歩きチェンマイ編をお送りしました！チェンマイは昔ながらのお寺が多数あり、またマッサージやスパも多くのんびり出来るので、とても人気の都市です。

人も優しく、料理も美味しい、そして猫と思う存分モフモフ出来てしまうので、是非足を伸ばしてみてください。

This time, I’ve been writing about cat spots in Chiang mai. There are many old temples, and lots of spas, and massages. The atmosphere is cozy, so these makes Chiang mai popular.

Please visit Chiang mai, as the people are very kind, great foods, and there are many cats.
