さて、今回は旅先（特に東南アジア）で美味しいローカルレストランを見つける方法について、サクッとご紹介したいと思います！

The news said that rainy season would start very soon, but it had been around 40℃ last few days… Just going to school made me tons of sweat!
On this post, I would like to tell you how to find delicious restaurants (mainly in South East Asia)!
どうやって美味しい店を見つけるか？ / How to find delicious restaurants?
1:現地で自分で探す / 1:Find by yourself on the spot

まず一番最初の手段ですが、滞在地にて自分で歩いて（もしくは自転車orバイクなど）見つける方法。
東南アジアは、万年常夏なので路上にテーブルと椅子を出しているレストランも多いです。その為、繁盛店は簡単に見つける事が可能ですね！
しかしながら、暑い中歩き回ってお店を探すのはかなり体力を消耗します…また、東南アジアは朝〜昼までしかやっていないお店、またその逆で夜しか営業しないお店もあります。
昼間下見して、美味しそうなお店を見つけたので、夜再訪してみたら閉まっていた…なんて経験無いでしょうか？
自力で探すのは、確実ではあるんですが体力＆時間を消費してしまい、あまり効率的な方法とは言い難いですね！せっかくの旅行ですから、時間も体力も有効に使いたいですよね。
Firstly, find one by yourself on foot (by bicycle or motorbike etc…).
South East Asia is always warm, so many restaurants set tables and chairs on the streets. That’s why it’s pretty easy to find the restaurants with full of people!
However, it’s pretty tough to walk around under the scorching sun… Moreover, some restaurants are open only in the morning to lunch, and some are open only dinner time in South East Asia.
If you find a good one during lunch time, and visit there again for dinner, but the restaurant is closed… It could often happen in South East Asia right?
Finding a delicious restaurant by yourself on foot is one reliable way, but you could waste your time. It’s better to use your limited time efficiently while you are on holiday.
2:Trip Advisor等のウェブサイト / By using Trip Advisor and other websites
さて、お次は世界的に有名なTrip Advisorを使った、美味しいお店の検索です。
僕も、以前はTrip Advisorを使用していた時期が少しだけあったんですが、非常に使い辛い！の一言です…地図検索機能も、非常に重たく使えたもんでは無いんですよね。
しかも、ランキング検索すると、上位は大抵高級店がランクインしてたり、お金を払ったスポンサー店が掲載されるので、僕が望んでいる「安くて地元客で人気のお店」を探すのには、全く役に立ちませんでした。
あとは、個人的な見解ですが、西洋人ユーザーが多いTrip Advisorの口コミは正直アテになった試しが無い…んですよねw
僕は西洋人の舌を信用していないので（過去に色々とガッカリ経験アリですw）、Trip Advisorを使用する事はなくなりました。
Next up is the world famous website (app), Trip Advisor.
Long time ago, I was using Trip Advisor to search delicious restaurants, but Trip Advisor was very hard to use ! The map function is pretty heavy too.
As you search by ranking, the top restaurants are mostly posh ones, or the ones which pay money to be listed. Thus, I think the ranking is biased, and I always looking for the restaurants which are reasonable price and popular amongst the locals!
Sorry, it’s my opinion but when it comes to Asian foods, I do NOT trust the tongues of the Western. I’ve had so many disappointing experiences… that’s why I no longer use Trip Advisor.
あとは、個人ブログで情報を収集する方も多いと思います。僕もこの手は使いますが、まず情報収集に結構時間がかかるし、有名店の情報がかなり目立つので、「まだあまり観光客が来ていない、マイナー店」を探すのは難しいです。
I’m sure you might read someone’s blog to search for delicious restaurants. I also read blogs, but it also takes time and most of bloggers write about the same famous restaurants. I always look for the local restaurants, where there aren’t many tourists.
Google Mapを活用しよう！ / Use Google Map efficiently!
結局のところ、 Google Map で飲食店をサーチするのが一番効率が良く、またハズレが少ないという結論にここ数年至りました！友人や彼女にも、「美味しいお店見つけるの上手いね！」と言われる事が増えました。
過去記事で紹介しました、バンコクの美味しいお店も、Google Mapを活用して探し出したお店です。もう何年も滞在している、定宿の近くにこんな美味しいお店があったのか…と驚きの発見でしたw
All in all, searching good restaurants by using Google Map is the most efficient way, and the reviews are pretty reliable! My friends and girl friend say, I’m good at finding good restaurants.
The delicious restaurant, which I introduced on the previous post, was found by using Google Map. I hadn’t noticed that there was a great restaurant very close to my usual hotel in Bangkok! Surprised!
・実例に沿って解説！ / Let’s see how I find a restaurant!
見つけ方は、非常に簡単です。自分が食事をしたいエリアの、レストランマーク（ナイフとフォークのマーク）を片っ端からクリックしてレビューを参照します。
この写真ですと、僕のバンコクの定宿のSPB Paradiseが右下にありますね。普段だと、地下鉄の駅方面（Mマーク）にしか行くことは無いので、駅の逆方面に行ったことはありませんでした。ちょっと何があるのか気になったので、Google Mapで調べてみたら、意外にも美味しそうな店があるではないか！と驚き、訪れてみたら当たり！だったのです。
最近はもっぱら訪れる予定の街の、滞在するホテル周辺で美味しいレストランを探すのに、Google Mapを使い倒していますwこの時間も結構楽しんですよね…
もともと、子供の頃から地図を見るのは非常に好きだったので、今でもちょっと時間を作ってチェンマイの定宿の近くも新規開拓しまくっています！
How to find a restaurant is straightforward. Just click the restaurant marks (knife & fork mark) in the area, where you want to eat and check reviews.
On the pic, you can see my usual hotel, SPB Paradise in Bangkok, at the right corner. I had never gone to the opposite direction of MRT station, and one day I was curious that if there was a delicious restaurant in the area. Thus, I just checked on Google Map, and found this restaurant! And the foods in the restaurant are really good!
Since I was a kid, I quite like to see Maps. I’ve been really hooked on finding new delicious restaurants in Chiang mai!
・レビューを見る際の注意点 / Points when you check reviews
目ぼしいレストランが見つかったら、レビューを調べます。レビューを見る際は、以下の点に注意するとハズレのお店を引く事が少なくなります。
1：評価は高いが、レビューの件数が10以下のお店は疑おう!
レビューが少な過ぎると、レストラン関係者＆身内によって書かれたレビューである可能性が高いです。
この数の基準は何とも判断し辛い所ですが、レビュー件数が20を越えると、信ぴょう性も高くなります。
2：星が３つ程度のお店でも、しっかりとレビューをチェックしよう！
レビューを見てみると、お店の責任ではない事に対して、低い評価をつける人がどの国にも一定数いる様ですw
そういったレビューによって、評価が下がっているケースもあるので、星3つ台のレストランも候補対象としてリサーチしましょう。
3：西洋人のレビューが軒並み良い店は疑おう！
先述しましたが、アジア料理において、西洋人の舌は全くアテにしない方が良い！という僕の持論ですw
旅で出会った西洋人が、「美味しい店を見つけたから行こう！」という経験が何度かあるんですが、軒並み美味しく無い…んですよね。チェコに住んでいた際も、「美味しいベトナム料理屋があるから行こう！」と言われ行ったのですが、これまた全く美味しくなかったんですw
ですので、レビューで西洋人だけが絶賛しているお店はハズレの可能性があると思いましょう！実際、チェンマイでも西洋人で賑わっている屋台やレストランなんかは、大抵残念な所が多いですw
子供の頃からマックとかのジャンクフードで育ってきた人の味覚は、アテになる筈が無いんですよね…
以上、レビューを参照する際に上記3点に気をつけてお店を探すと、マイナーで美味しいレストランを発見できる可能性がグーンと上がります。僕も実際、Google Mapを活用する様になってから、美味しいローカルレストランの発見率が格段に上がりましたよ！

I mentioned earlier that find delicious restaurants is easy. However, here are the tips when you check the reviews.
1：Doubt a restaurant which has a high score but reviews are less than 10!
The reason is simple, the reviews might have been written by the relatives & workers of restaurant.
It’s pretty difficult to tell, but if there are over 20 reviews, it’s pretty reliable.
2：Check the reviews well even a restaurant has 3 stars ish!
In any country, there are people, who complain about something that isn’t restaurant’s responsibility.
Such reviews lower the scores of restaurant. Thus, try to check the reviews with very low score.
3：Do not trust the Western people’s tongue! (Sorry but no offense!)
Again, as I mentioned before, based on my experience, when it comes to Asian food, better not trust the Westerners.
If the reviews are only full of the Westerner’s, you shouldn’t trust the reviews that much. I do NOT trust the people’s tongue, who grew up with junk foods!
When you find restaurants in your destination, please keep these points in your mind! And then, you can easily find delicious restaurants with lots of locals by using Google Map!
