今回は、先日ソンクラーン前に行ってきました、チェンマイのメーチェム群にあります、 テープパノム温泉 についてご紹介したいと思います。
そもそも、何故メーチェムと言うマニアックな場所に行ったかと言いますと、タイ北部をツーリングした友人から「メーチェムと言う、のんびりとした居心地の良い村があった！」と聞き、これは是非行ってみたい！と思ったからです。

I went to Thepphanom hot spring in Mae chem few days ago, just before Songklan started.
Why I went to such a maniac village? One of my friends traveled by motorbike in the Northern Thailand, and he said “Mae chem was very relaxing place indeed!”. That’s why I wanted to visit there one day, and the day had come!
テープパノム温泉の場所 / Location of Thepphanom hot spring
テープパノム温泉は、チェンマイからですと車（バイク）で約2時間ちょっとの場所にあります。
私は、今回メーチェムに宿をとり、そこを拠点に観光致しました。チェンマイからメーチェムに行くには、タイ最高峰のドイインタノンの麓を超える必要があり、道がいろは坂並にクネクネしているので中々ハードな道でした。
The way to Thepphanom hot spring from Chiang mai is roughly 2 hours by car or motorbike.
I stayed in a hotel in Mae chem, and visit the hot spring. The way to Mae chem from Chiang mai is pretty tough, as you need to cross the foot of Doi Inthanon (the highest mountain in Thailand). The road is very winding indeed.

【料金：Fee】外国人:200バーツ / Foreigners:200THB
【駐車料: Parking Fee】バイク20バーツ・車30バーツ / Motorbike:20THB・Car 30THB
【営業時間: Opening hours】8:00~16:30
施設の入り口には大きな駐車場と、ビジターセンターがありました。
通常ですと、入り口で外国人200バーツ＋駐車料金を徴収される様ですが、僕達が到着した時はゲートに誰もおらず、周りにいた工事の方に尋ねても「温泉に入るなら、あっちの施設まで車で行けますよ。」と言われただけで、入場料は徴収されませんでした…ラッキー！？
チェンマイからメーチェムに行く道にも、ドイインタノン国立公園への入場料を徴収するゲートがあったんですが、そこでも車を止められる事なく、入場料150バーツを支払わずに通過出来たんですよね…彼女曰く、「ソンクラーンだから良いんじゃない？ラッキーだね！」との事…350バーツも節約出来ちゃいました、センソン買えますねw
When you enter the premises, there is a huge parking space and visitor centre.
Normally, you need to pay 200THB (for foreigners) + parking fees, but when we arrived there, no one was at the entrance gate… so we asked the guys working for constructions, and they said we could drive further, as the hot spring facility was over there. Luckily (?) we didn’t pay for the entrance fee!
Actually, when we drove from Chiang mai to Mae chem, we had to pass Doi Inthanon national park. Thus we had to pay 15oTHB for the entrance fee, but we weren’t stopped, so we didn’t pay for that… My GF said it was because before Songklan festival…well, fair enough, Lucky me!
施設入って直ぐの所に、源泉が湧き出している沼があります。訪れた日は、ソンクラーン前日の酷暑期の真っ只中。猛烈な暑さの中温泉に入りに来る人は居ない様で、広大な施設は僕らだけで貸切でした…
When you enter the premises, you’ll see the big pond, where hot spring is coming out. On the day we visited there was just before Songklan, and it means the hottest season in Thailand. There was no one except us…
先程、工事の方に教えて貰った通り、入り口の駐車場には止めずにさらに奥に進むと、温泉施設の受付に到着しました。入り口の駐車場に停めてしまうと、ここまでちょっと歩きますので、注意して下さいね！
As the guy told us, as we drove ahead, there was the visitor centre for hot spring. Please be noted that do not park your car at the entrance, you need to walk for a while!
こちらで、個室温泉使用料金の 50バーツ を支払います。あれ？確か事前情報では30バーツの露天のプールもあるって聞いていたんですが、今はやってない？との事。（後ほど詳しく…）
We paid 50THB for using a private room. As I searched in advance, there is the outdoor pool for 30THB, but the staff said it’s out of service. (I’ll explain why later…)
個室には、ご覧の様な浴槽と、水シャワーが浴びれるスペースが併設されて居ます。今回は、僕が外の写真を撮っている間に、係のおばさんがお湯を貯め始めてくれていましたが、 入る前に浴槽を軽く水で流してからお湯を貯める様 にして貰いましょう！
もちろんタイなので、毎回洗うと言うことは行って無いと思います。入浴中に結構ゴミが浮いているのが気になったので、入浴前に軽くホースで流してからお湯を貯めて貰って下さいw
In a private room, there is a bath tub and shower space (only cold water). When I was taking pictures, the staff had already started pouring water into the tub. Mind you! this is Thailand, so they don’t wash the tubs every single time…
When I was taking a bath, there were many dusts floating on the surface. Better rinse by water before pouring water guys !
ホースから出て来る温泉は、非常に高温なので火傷に要注意です！
こちらテープパノム温泉の泉質は、無色透明ですが、ほのかな硫黄臭がしました。また、とてもしっとりとしたお湯で、お肌がすべすべとする感触がありました。群馬の小野上温泉とまでは行かないものの、中々良い泉質だと思います。
＊小野上温泉とは、群馬の淑女達に「どこの温泉が一番好きか？」と尋ねると、高確率で返ってくる場所。まるでローションの様な（筆者個人的感想）泉質で、美肌として有名な温泉。
Please be careful that hot water coming out from the hose is very hot!
The hot spring has no color but there was a hint of sulphur smell. I felt that the water made my skin moisture and sleek, like Onogami hot spring in Gunma prefecture in Japan.
*Onogami is a very popular hot spring amongst the ladies in Gunma prefecture. I took once, the water was like lotion, made your skin very moisture indeed. That’s why Onogami is very popular for women in general.
露天プール閉鎖の訳… / The reason why outdoor pool is closed…
僕は露天風呂を大変好んでいるので、今回も当施設の露天プールを楽しみにしていたんです。
しかし、彼女が係の人に尋ねてみると「閉園後に露天プールに忍び込む人が多すぎて、今は営業していない…」との事でした。前回のチェンダオにあります、土管温泉の記事でも書きましたが、やはりここタイではマナーが問題な様ですね…
なるほど、それで入場料の徴収もストップしていたのかも知れません…
I really love outdoor hot spring, that’s why I was really looking forward to the outdoor pool here.
My GF asked the staff and what she said was “There were many people sneaked into the pool after the business hour, that’s why we had to close it…” As I wrote on the previous post, manner is a problem here in Thailand…
I thought that’s why they didn’t correct the entrance fee then…
温泉後のクールダウンにぴったりのレストラン！ / Great restaurant after taking hot spring!
さて、最後に温泉後のクールダウンに非常にオススメなスポットをご紹介致します。
温泉からわずか数分の所に、川に竹で出来た筏を浮かべて、そこで食事が出来るスポットがありました。テープパノム温泉には、食事を出来る施設が無いので、お風呂上がりの一杯や食事をするには絶好のスポットです！
At the end, I would like to share a great spot after taking the hot spring.
There are bamboo rafts on the river, where you can enjoy meals and cold beer! There isn’t a restaurant at Thepphanom hot spring, so why don’t you visit there?
川の水は思っていたより綺麗で、子供が沢山泳いでいました。
道沿いに、簡易レストランが何軒か並んでいますので、気になったお店でオーダーして川沿いまで届けて貰うスタイルです。どこもガイヤーンやムーヤーンがメインですが、如何せんなかなかの僻地ですので、料理の質はあまり期待しない様にw
The river was rather clean, and many kids were swimming.
There are few food stalls on the street, so order foods there, and they’ll bring to you. They mostly offer Gai yaan, or Moo yann, but due to the remote location, you can’t expect delicious foods tho…

今回は、チェンマイのメーチェムにありますテープパノム温泉についてお届け致しました。
チェンマイからちょっと離れていますが、メーチェムは非常にのんびりとした村なので、泊まりで訪れるには良いスポットです。
・テープパノム温泉にある露天プールは現在閉鎖中です！
・個室風呂使用料は50バーツ！またホースから出て来る温泉は非常に高温なので要注意！
・温泉至近の川沿いレストランは、風呂上がりの一杯に最高です！

On this post, I’ve been introducing Theppanom hot spring in Mae chem.
It’s a bit far from Chiang mai, but Mae chem is a very quiet place, so it’s worth visiting there.
・Outdoor swimming pool is closed at the moment!
・The fee for private hot spring is 50THB! Watch out the hot water coming out from the hose!
・There is a nice spot by the river, where you can have cold beer!
